Moving Day!

Well, I haven't blogged in a while so I'm very sorry. We've been so busy lately that I haven't had time for it. It will be better when we get to Oklahoma and I have tons of free time. There are many pictures I'd like to post, but some of them are still on the camera and haven't been transferred to the computer yet. We've had going away parties with our Sunday school class and Paul's squadron, Paul had his Fini Flight (last flight in the C-21), we went to Chicago for a few days, and then the movers came to pack up our house. It's been crazy!

Today we are leaving... on to our next adventure. I'm not sure if it's hit me yet that we're not coming back. It almost seems as if we're just going on a long vacation, although our house is extremely empty now without any furniture. We actually had to go out and buy one of those blow-up matresses because the movers took our bed away! Anyway, I will write more later, but here are 2 pictures of our going away party with our Sunday school class from church on Aug. 19. We sure will miss our wonderful friends! They were so sweet and got us a huge coupon book for Charleston as a going away gift. What a great idea. I'm sure we will use it often. Thanks y'all (gotta get my southern accent back...if I ever had one at all)!

Air Show

This weekend Paul and I went to the Air Show at Scott AFB. We saw the mighty C-17, which is the plane he will be flying at our next assignment. He got so excited when we walked through it and got to sit up in the cockpit! This plane is huge! We also saw several other cool planes and saw the Thunderbirds perform their many acrobatic maneuvers. It really was awesome!

I'm starting to learn the planes. This is an F-15.

I don't remember the name of the one flying with the F-15, but it's an old one from WWII.

And of course, here are the Thunderbirds (they are F-16s)!

Women of Faith

This past weekend I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Women of Faith Conference in St. Louis. I went with two friends and a group from our church. It was amazing! We laughed, we cried, we sang and worshiped God with all our hearts! What a wonderful experience. These ladies are so captivating, humorous, and encouraging. I hope to go again next year, but it will have to be someplace closer to Charleston. I think they'll be in Charlotte, NC October 26-27, 2007. Or maybe my mom and I could go together when they are in Atlanta August 10-11, 2007.

Here are a few pictures I took.

Great news!

We're under contract to sell our house! We're really going to miss our cute house here in Troy. And we'll miss the friends we've made here even more! Those of you we're leaving, please keep in touch and keep us updated on your lives. Our next stop is Altus, OK, where we will be for about 3 1/2 months while Paul trains to fly the C-17...then on to Charleston, SC. Despite some sadness about leaving, we are really excited about this next chapter in our lives!

Intro and Purpose

Hello! I've decided to try my hand at another Blog. I did this a few years ago, but didn't keep up with it. The purpose of this is going to be to 1) keep our friends and family updated on our lives 2) give me an outlet to share my crafty, creative side and my Stampin' Up! business and 3) post pictures! Let's see if I can figure it all out!
